David Kendall.Principal and Creative Director

David hates shopping, but loves creating great retail experience. While his wife shops, David typically is searching out new products and retail insights.Insights that have led to making Donkey Kong a hero for Nintendo, and surfing hip in Seattle for Surfer’s Quest.


David began his career as an art director in Tokyo specializing in editorial design for the luxury, hospitality and airline industries. Prior to establishing Kendall Ross, David worked in various design management capacities for both local and national agencies.


David received a BFA in Design and a BA in Japanese at the University of Washington as well as an MFA in Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. David is an active member in the Seattle design community having previously served as the Vice President of the Seattle Chapter of the AIGA. He is an active member of DMI, AdClub/Seattle, ICSC, and regularly teaches and lectures on design and brand issues around the country.


An active member of the community, David sits on the board for the Climb for Breast Cancer for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as well as the Pacific Northwest Food Industries Executive Committee for The City of Hope.
